More Family Photos in the SNOW!

Ok....I ended up taking 675 photos of the family in the Ohio snow, so I had to do a second post to show you more :)

Photo Tip: When shooting in a snow shower, the further away you are from your subject the more flakes that will get in the way. The heavier the snow the closer you'll need to be.
Ex. The above photo was of more people so I had to stand further back, the snow was also coming down pretty hard so there were a lot of flakes in the way. But I still think we got some good shots :)

The Tools: I was shooting with a 70-200 lens on a Canon 5D...using the lens hood of course, don't want those pesky snow flakes on the lens!

Family Photos in the SNOW!

Last weekend we visited Luke's extended family in Ohio. While at his Uncle's cabin for a family party, the snow really started coming down. Sooo.... I grabbed Luke's siblings (my favorite models) and other relatives and ended up spending 3-4 hours shooting outside! I felt like I was doing a GAP photo shoot, haha :) I had a blast and I think the family did too. But I will have to say, next time I will pack warmer boots!

Southall Eden is a gorgeous Farm less than 10 minutes outside of Historic Downtown Franklin near Leiper's Fork, TN. There is red barn that has me so excited to take family portraits in front of it I can hardly stand it!!

Jordan & Allie's Wedding "Sneak Peek" - Franklin, TN

Here is a sneak peek of my sister's wedding last Saturday, June 27th! Allie & Jordan were married at the Franklin Factory in Historic Downtown Franklin, TN. Abby's 3rd Birthday Portraits - Nashville, TN

Today is my new little sister-in-law's 3rd Birthday and her first birthday to celebrate in America! We celebrated her sister Sophie's 10th B'day in Destin, FL, so we thought Abby deserved some special attention herself...and boy did she love every minute of it! ...And I have to tell you so did I! Abby gave me some of the most hilarious faces and had us laughing the entire shoot. So glad we were able to capture her 3rd Birthday in style :)

Nashville, TN - Family Portraits - Holt Family

I met Jena Holt through Craig & Shannie at their Destin, FL wedding and she asked me to take photos of her family for her mom for Mother's Day. Jena did a great job of organizing the boys and we were able to find some really unique & fun spots at the Franklin Factory.

Krehbiel Family- Beach Portraits -Destin, FL

What a great time we had with Luke's family in Destin, FL in April!! As most of you know, his parents recently adopted 4 children who we are madly in love with! What made this trip even more exciting was it was the kids' first time to see the ocean! While we were there we took the opportunity to take some family portraits! It was a job corralling so many people but the end results were worth it! :)

Welcome Home!

Luke's parents just brought home our 4 newest brother & sisters, our adopted siblings from over seas. Sophie (9), Izzie & Zach (7), and Abby (3). We are head over heels in love! They arrived on Feb. 28th and we have been spending a lot of family time loving on the kids and introducing them to all of their firsts, like ice cream! ...they didn't like how cold it was :) I took a photo shoot last Thursday of all of Beth & Jon's kids, with more pictures coming after our family beach trip in April. P.S. Sophie LOVES Cohen and handles him like she has had 5 children of her own already. He likes the attention too... :)
